e-Orch Innovative Music Project

The e-Orch Innovative Music Project, initiated by Dr. LEUNG Chi-hin at The Education University of Hong Kong, is a groundbreaking music education initiative, using tablets and a simple grid notation system to democratize music creation. The e-Orch app is central to this initiative, allowing users to engage with music through virtual instruments and AI accompaniments, promoting collaborative learning in ensembles and workshops. Celebrated with awards and widely integrated into Hong Kong’s educational landscape, e-Orch now seeks to establish the Innovative Music Centre at Hong Kong Science Park, enhance audience interaction with new apps, and further innovate music education through ongoing research and development of teaching methods and assessment tools.

Artificial intelligence technology revolutionizes strabismus diagnosis

Initiated by Dr. FU Hong at The Education University of Hong Kong, this project is a pioneering initiative in the field of strabismus diagnosis. It leverages artificial intelligence technology to create an intelligent automated system for effective ocular misalignment assessment and diagnosis, addressing the shortage of eye professionals and providing an objective method with high granular measurement. The system integrates AI analytics and deep-learning technologies to assist optometrists in clinical strabismus assessment, offering timely diagnosis to prevent lasting consequences, such as permanent vision impairment, particularly in children.

YoChatGPT!

Developed by SustainED Ltd., led by Dr. TING Sze Thou, YoChatGPT! is a collaborative generative AI platform seamlessly integrating generative AI into classrooms through an online chatroom platform. It empowers students to engage with AI freely and collaboratively with each other and with teachers. YoChatGPT! addresses the limitations of current generative AI platforms by offering multi-user access, multiple LLM options, interactive features for active learning, and STEM-friendly functionalities like math handwriting recognition and diagram generation.

Led by Professor YEUNG, Siu Sze, EduFuture Robotics is a leading artificial intelligence robotics project at The Education University of Hong Kong. With the mission to enhance education through social robots, EduFuture Robotics is at the forefront of educational technology. Researchers at EdUHK have developed “ AI Buddy ” (Joey), a social robot that surpasses traditional devices in engaging young learners, stimulating curiosity and a passion for learning. This innovative approach not only reflects a groundbreaking discovery but also establishes EduFuture Robotics as a leader in translating academic research into practical, transformative educational tools.
